This ages back upto 1986 AD, when I was in my 6th standard in school. Right in 6th standard, that is when we start studying different subjects of Science separately - Physics, Chemistry and Biology. That was the first day of Chemistry class and our Chemistry Teacher NKV Sir started Chemistry lessons with a Chemistry lab on the first day. The Statement of the problem for the Chemistry experiment was very simple. Identify theĀ temperatureĀ of Chemical substances - could be elements, compounds, solutions - whatever it may be. Not all the substances were measuring the same as roomĀ temperature, there were hotter substances as well as colder substances (colder means even less than freezing point). It was me and my classmate Natrajan who were teammates for the experiment that day. Natrajan is a very very smart student, he was too good at Math. He was good at Science too. You can easily guess how smart he must have been if he is a popular Dentist right now and has a Clinic in heart of the City Chennai at T. Nagar. It was him who was measuring theĀ temperatureĀ of the substances and I was recording the measurements in a table form. He was saying Sodium Chloride was 32 degree celcius and 89.6 Farenheit, Ice was minus 5 degree celcius and plus 23 degrees farenheit. He mentioned Mercury was 332.6 degrees farenheit and 167 degrees celcius. He kept on measuring different substances and telling me theirĀ temperatureĀ in celcius and farenheit or in the different order farenheit and celcius. It does not matter which order he told me, I was listening very sharply to his words about the findings and noting it down in the table appropriately. I think for one of the substances - Ā I don't remember the name of the substance, he said some degrees - I don't remember the degrees also very clearly. But, he just said degrees. I asked him whether it is degree celcius or degree farenheit. He said you can either mark it degree celcius or degree farenheit, it is all the same. I was furious about what he mentioned and getting mad at him, can you please clearly mention the units. He never seemed to care. Is he really making any sense? Was he really a smart kid? Or it was just his turn to mess up with me?
Do you know the answer?
Clue: It could be a fictional or make up incident or story, but this is a valid scenario and a valid question. Answer me if my emotions were right? Was he really making sense?Ā
